Experienced Insights: AEC Leaders Have Found One Thing Nonprofits Need to be Doing Now
Continuing the nonprofit related questions for AEC and Design experts, NMBL wanted to know what these industry leaders thought are essential things for nonprofits to do during the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked what they feel nonprofits need to be doing. Ignoring these strategies could leave your nonprofit lacking. Their answers can help nonprofits develop ideas and apply useful strategies to connect, communicate, and continue to fundraise and serve their communities. Here’s what they had to say:
What is one thing you feel nonprofits need to be doing during COVID?
“Outreach”
- Brian Henn, Pacific Studios
“Stay positive and think out of the box and embrace communication in as many ways as possible.”
- Bill Haley, HSD
“Nonprofits should refrain from reaching too far into areas they are not accustomed to doing. As funding is being stretched, nonprofits need partnership and dialogue more than ever. Growth should be controlled but also partnered. A community of organizations and voices is a win for everyone.”
- Michael Friebele, CRTKL
“Stay in touch with your community. Be creative in delivering your message.”
- Jim Hill, Sterling Project Development
All offering great pieces of advice for nonprofits, these four leaders generally agreed on what nonprofits ought to prioritize. They recognized that communication and outreach are essential regardless of what is going on with the economy and public health crisis. It may require new strategies to communicate and connect but continuing to do so is essential. Now more than ever, the public wants to know how and what your nonprofit is doing, especially when it comes to organizations serving those in need. Remaining focused and continuing to have a dialogue with the community is key to staying on track.
